About Palmetto Gun Rights
We believe in 100% firearms liberty for individuals in the state of South Carolina. We will not trade away one right in exchange for two other rights just to achieve some sort of partial liberty. For far too long, establishment, statist, access-based gun lobbying organizations here in South Carolina and across the country have sold out gun owners and liberty lovers for political expediency and personal gain.
Palmetto Gun Rights is organized as a 501 (c)(4) non-profit, non-partisan grassroots citizen organization made up of gun owners and lovers of liberty. We do not endorse, support, or oppose any candidate for political office. We do not call for the election or defeat of any candidate for political office. Palmetto Gun Rights seeks to inform gun owners, voters, and liberty activists in South Carolina on their candidates’ positions on firearms issues. The goal is to hold politicians accountable and achieve maximum liberty for an individual to defend himself, his family, and his property without having to ask government for permission to do so.
By signing petitions, postcards, letters, sending emails, faxes, making phone calls, personally visiting your state legislators, and contributing, together, we can take back our individual liberty to defend ourselves from the government licensing system that exists today.
We invite all South Carolinans, and anyone else, who believes in freedom, liberty, and private property to join Palmetto Gun Rights. Please join the “South Carolina Constitutional Carry” Revolution by contributing to the effort to take back our firearm liberty from the government of the State of South Carolina.
Our goal is to change South Carolina laws to recognize our absolute right to self defense. The United States constitution recognizes that right through the language of the second amendment, "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed". The South Carolina Constitution also recognizes it with the same language.
We believe "shall not be infringed" means exactly that. Plain and simple... government should not put barriers in the way of your ability to own and carry a gun. Our motto is, "Own it, Carry it, Anytime, Anywhere."
What Makes PGR Different from Other Groups?
No compromise, No compromise, No compromise!
We understand that compromising with anti-gun politicians is how we always lose in the battle for recognition of our right to "own it, carry it, anytime, anywhere". We may talk about on how big a step forward we will take, but we will never trade away recognition of our right in one area to gain recognition of a right in a different area.
